The bracket BCD is hinged at point C and attached to a control rod at point B. If P is 400 N, determine the tension in rod AB and the reaction at point C. (Note: Rod AB is perpendicular to segment BC.)

Since the force at point B is perpendicular to CB, the easiest way to set up a moment equation about point C is to find the 
distance CB.
Taking moments about C eliminates the unknowns at C.
Using the moment equilibrium equation we can solve for the force 
in the rod.
